| The pain. It always reminds me of it, and everything I lost to it. I should've been lost to nature's call for me. Why must I be kept with this anguish?

An observational thought today made me realize that Pepsi-Cola is under the dillusional belief that they are more popular and taste better than Coca-Cola.
I have a thesis against this.
The following is true until otherwise noted.
In all technicality, Pepsi-Cola is the original formula for Coca-Cola. When Coca-Cola was first founded, their recipe was not kept so secret, and former business partners ran off with the formula and started their own company. The Coca-Cola company was forced to restart itself, and make a new formula.
The following is opinion and theory until otherwise noted.
Sorry that you didn't get it right first. Pepsi tastes like crap, and many of my fellow brethren agree. Coca-Cola has a more acidic feel that tickles the throat and belly, and just a generally more appeasing taste. It is my belief that most of America, and possibly the world has this belief.
So, why then, does Pepsi continue to press the opinion that it tastes better? Better marketing.
Lets face it, Pepsi has more shameless commercial plugs than any other business in the world. They flaunt celebrities, huge contests, and try to appeal to the popular culture (i.e. the Pepsi trucks with hrdraulics). Admittedly, Coca-Cola commercial suck ass, when they actually make them. Coke does less commercials than Pepsi, and does a shitty job at them. But they have one thing that beats Pepsi outstandingly, aside from taste. They have partnerships.
Coca-Cola is the global partner of the biggest food service in the entire world. That's right, the multi-billion dollar corporation known as McDonald's is Coca-Cola's partner. In every McDonald's you have walked into, there was a Coke machine, not a Pepsi.
Aside from McDonald's, Coca-Cola also has two other major food companies alongside it (that I can think of off the top of my head), those being Arby's and Burger King.
So, just because you keep feeding bullshit doesn't mean the people will like it. Just look at spam mail. |
